My Purpose Finder: A Guided Reflection

My Purpose Finder: A Guided Reflection

Welcome! This form is a private tool for you, not a test. Its goal is to help you discover the "golden threads" that run through your life—your passions, your skills, and the needs you're drawn to. Be honest and take your time. We'll use these answers to help you draft a personal purpose statement at the end.

Part 1 - What Gives You Energy? (Your Passion)

What gets you excited to get out of bed in the morning? (Or what would, if you could design your perfect day?)
What activities or topics make you lose all track of time?
What are you doing when you feel most "like yourself"?
What's something you could talk about for an hour without getting bored?

Part 2 - What is Your Impact? (Your Contribution)

What's a problem or need in the world (or in your community) that truly bothers you?
What kind of impact do you hope to have on the people or world around you?
What do you want people to be remembered for?

Part 3 - How Do You Do It? (Your Actions)

When you're at your best, what action are you taking?
(e.g., teaching, building, organizing, creating, healing, simplifying, protecting, inspiring?)
What's a skill you have (that you actually enjoy using) that others often compliment you on?
When you look at the "problem" you listed in the last section, what's your first instinct on how to help?

Part 4 - Finding Your Themes (The Synthesis)

Looking at all your previous answers, what 3-5 common words or themes keep showing up?
(e.g., "children," "creating," "peace," "justice," "simplifying," "building.")
Now, let's find your "Who." Based on your answers, who are the specific people you are most drawn to serve or help?
(e.g., "my family," "my team," "new parents," "overlooked artists," "people feeling overwhelmed.")

Part 5 - Drafting Your Statement (The "Why")

Building Block 1: The ACTION (The "What I Do"). Based on your themes, what is your primary action verb?
(e.g., "To create," "To build," "To inspire," "To teach," "To heal.")
Building Block 2: The 'WHO' (The People). Who do you do this for?
(e.g., "my children," "my team," "confused people," "my community.")
Building Block 3: The IMPACT (The "Why"). What is the ultimate result you want to create for those people?
(e.g., "so they can feel secure," "so they can find clarity," "so they can experience joy.")
First Draft: Put It All Together. Combine your three building blocks into one sentence.
(e.g., "My purpose is to create peaceful spaces for my busy family so they can find rest.")
