Celebration and Rest

serving from the overflow; understanding rest; the power of thankfulness; contentment in the season.

Psalm 46:10 NLT
“Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honoured by every nation. I will be honoured throughout the world.”

Do you find it hard to rest? To purposefully and actively set aside a Sabbath day each week?

God wants us to celebrate and take time to enjoy our life, learning to be thankful, grateful and content, despite what is happening in our lives.  Being thankful and still is a choice we need to make so that our inner world can be centred and at peace.

Taking time to truly know and honour God, and put Him first, will always bring blessing to your life – blessing that the world can’t even come close to offering.   Giving Him our time, enjoying His creation, enjoying being with our loved ones, and enjoying our life is a God-given gift!

Being still is not something that comes easy for a lot of us, especially me, but when we pursue stillness and prioritise time to meditate on His word, giving Him the honour that He deserves, then goodness will follow our days.

Some people can be still and connect to God listening to worship music, some when they journal, some when they are doing what is good for their soul – enjoying hobbies or just being in nature.  The most important thing is allowing yourself time to enjoy and celebrate the life God has given you, because once you are truly rested, serving Him will always be a joy.
